What to expect at the viewing screen?
- Unique Birdwatching Spot: On the northern side of the Renvogelveld, just a 200-metre walk from Vuurtorenweg, you’ll find a viewing screen overlooking a wet marshland area – perfect for undisturbed bird observation.
- Birds in Every Season: In winter, you’ll find large groups of ducks, gulls and geese. In spring and summer, various meadow birds breed here, while in autumn, thrushes and pipits stop by during migration.
- Special Name Origin: The field owes its name to a remarkable event: in October 1986, a rare dotterel was spotted here – the first ever recorded in the Netherlands.
- Scenic Walking Route: A lovely walking trail circles the field, offering great views of the area from different angles without disturbing the birds.
- Accessibility: The viewing screen is freely accessible all year round and easy to reach on foot – ideal for nature lovers of all ages.
