Kijkpost Diepe Gat - Observation point
Kijkpost Diepe Gat overlooks a dune lake north of De Slufter on Texel. The viewpoint lies in the Dunes of Texel National Park and is managed by Staatsbosbeheer.
What can you expect at Kijkpost Diepe Gat?
- Birds: On and around the water you often see eiders and black-tailed godwits.
- Volunteers: From spring, Staatsbosbeheer volunteers are on site daily from 10am to 4pm. They lend binoculars or a telescope and hand out free leaflets and bird charts.
- Walking: Walking routes of 4 to 11 kilometres around De Slufter pass the viewpoint.

- Getting there: The viewpoint is on the Oorsprongweg near De Cocksdorp.
