Krimbos - Nature

The Krimbos is located in the north of Texel, near De Cocksdorp, and is a wonderful natural area for walking, cycling, and playing in the fresh sea air.
What can you expect in the Krimbos?
- Young Forest Area: The Krimbos is the youngest forest on Texel and part of the Dunes of Texel National Park. It was created in the 1980s and expanded to around 130 hectares.
- Varied Nature: The forest offers a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees, open flower-filled areas, and ponds with nature-friendly banks that attract many insects, birds, and small animals.
- Flora and Fauna: In spring, nightingales breed here, while mice, butterflies, and dragonflies hide among the bushes and along the watersides.

The Krimbos was created to offer visitors in the north of Texel an alternative to the dunes. It has been a great success: today, the forest attracts many nature lovers and holidaymakers who come here to enjoy peace, space, and greenery.
