Fonteinsnol - Observation point

The viewing tower Fonteinsnol is one of the most famous viewpoints on Texel, located in the green heart of the island.
What to expect at the Fonteinsnol viewing tower
Photogenic viewpoint: The tower stands on a dune about 18 metres high and offers a panoramic view over the Texel forests, dunes and the North Sea. Especially at sunrise or sunset, the view is spectacular.- Name: The name ‘Fonteinsnol’ comes from the old word nol, meaning dune, and refers to a fountain that once stood here to extract water from the dunes.
Beautiful walking area: The area around the tower is located in the middle of the De Dennen forest area, part of the Dunes of Texel National Park. Several walking routes pass directly by the tower – ideal for nature lovers and families with children.- Picnic and play fun: Close to the tower you’ll find 't Vierkante Stuk playground and Het Turfveld forest pavilion – perfect for a break during a walk or bike ride through the dunes.

Accessibility: Follow the walking path from the Rozendijk and Westerslag crossroads.- Parking: There is a small car park along the Fonteinsnolweg.
- Access: The tower is free to visit and open all year round.
