The Sixty of Texel 2028

Every two years, the Texel Athletics Association organizes one of the most special running events in the Netherlands: De Zestig van Texel (The Sixty of Texel). This event is known as the most beautiful and also the toughest point-to-point race for ultra runners and relay teams.

• The course is a true challenge and offers a unique experience through the variety of landscapes. Nearly two-thirds of the route is car-free, ensuring an undisturbed running experience.
• The route takes participants past all the landmark points of the island of Texel. From the rugged coastlines on the west side to the picturesque villages along the Wadden side, runners get to see the best of Texel.
• The first part of the course is mainly unpaved and takes runners over the beach, through forests, and over dune and bike paths. This part tests the skills and endurance of every ultra runner.
• The second part of the route is completely paved and includes passing through Oosterend and along the harbour of Oudeschild. Climbing the Hoge Berg is the ultimate challenge for participants before reaching the finish.
