New Year's Day plunge 2027

On 1 January, hundreds of islanders and holidaymakers start the new year with a bracing dip in the North Sea.

• De Koog: the biggest dip takes place at Paal 20 near De Koog, at 14.00.
• Den Hoorn: at beach post 9 near Den Hoorn, participants go into the water at 13.00.
• De Cocksdorp: at beach post 28 near De Cocksdorp the dip also starts at 13.00.
• Spectators: not brave enough? Come and watch and cheer on the swimmers from the beach.
• Weather: in a storm or other unsafe conditions the dip may be cancelled; check the latest news on the day itself.
